About this tour
The Waterfall Hiking Tour takes place on private agricultural land in Honomu on the Big Island, where a guide leads small groups along trails through lush terrain to visit private waterfalls, including Kolekole Falls and Kawainui Falls. The hike covers private property that is not accessible without this tour, so guests see waterfalls that are off-limits to the general public.
The tour suits families and outdoor enthusiasts who can hike over uneven terrain. Guests with serious neck, back, or joint injuries, chronic heart conditions, or who are pregnant should not participate. Closed-toe shoes are required, and sandals, Crocs, and Chacos are not permitted on the trail.
Tours run rain or shine, so bringing rain gear on overcast days is a good idea. All guests must sign a release waiver before starting. The meeting point is on Old Mamalahoa Highway in Honomu, and arriving early for check-in is required. Backpacks and water cups are not included but are available on-site.
