ʻAnaehoʻomalu Bay, often called A-Bay, is a beach park at Waikoloa Beach Resort on the Kohala coast. ʻAnaehoʻomalu means protected mullet in Hawaiian. The National Park Service tells of two Hawaiian fishponds here, Kuʻualiʻi and Kahapapa, where mullet and other small fish were raised for royalty. At the resort's pond preserve, fishing is not allowed, and neither is throwing rubbish, food, animals or fish into the ponds. The resort lists free parking, showers, restrooms and picnic areas. A paved section of the Ala Kahakai trail runs along the bay, and the trail is open to the public between the bay and Spencer Beach Park.
Free parking at the beach park, per Waikoloa Beach Resort.
