Waimea

A state highway from Waimea north to Hāwī, starting in Waimea's upcountry pastureland.

Kohala Mountain Road is a state highway that runs north from Waimea to the town of Hāwī. Waimea, where it starts, is upcountry pastureland and home of the paniolo, the Hawaiian cowboy. From Hāwī, the way on toward Kapaʻau leads to Pololū Valley at the end of the road.
