Wrangler Ride

The Wrangler Ride is Paniolo Adventures' longest and most adventurous horseback experience — a 4-hour open-range ride designed for experienced equestrians who want maximum time trotting and cantering across Ponoholo Ranch's 11,000 acres on Kohala Mountain.

This ride is built for riders who have been in the saddle at least 50 times in the past five years. All riders must be 12 years or older. If you're an intermediate or expert rider looking for a serious ride fix, this is the one.

You'll spend four hours on horseback (4.5 hours total) with a short break midway to stretch your legs — feel free to bring snacks for the pause. The route covers the ranch's most scenic terrain at 3,000 feet elevation, with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean, the Kohala and Kona coastlines, volcanic peaks, and grazing cattle across rolling green pastures.

Boots, light jackets, Australian duster jackets, and helmets are provided. Wear closed-toe shoes and long pants, and dress in layers — the mountain is 10–15 degrees cooler than the coast. Check-in is at 8:30 AM.
