An approximately 11-hour circle-island tour designed for travelers who want to see as much of the Big Island as possible in a single day. Departing from Kona, the adventure begins at Bay View Farm, a working 24-acre coffee farm on the slopes of Mauna Loa overlooking Kealakekua Bay, where you'll sample 100% Kona coffee and learn about the growing process. Heading south through the Kona and Ka'u Districts, stop at Punalu'u Black Sand Beach to look for green sea turtles resting on the sand beneath coconut palms. At Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, visit the Kīlauea Visitor Center, Kīlauea Iki Crater Overlook, and Steaming Bluffs, then walk through Volcano House for views of the steaming caldera. Dropping down to the island's lush east side, browse the handmade confections at Big Island Candies in Hilo, then drive through the historic Hilo waterfront to Rainbow Falls. The tour continues north to Waipi'o Valley, the Valley of Kings, for views from the overlook of thousand-foot waterfalls, taro farms, and wild horses on the valley floor far below. A deli-style picnic lunch is included. All ages welcome, with pickup from Kona-area hotels. A 48-hour cancellation notice is required.
