The white sand section of Kekaha Kai State Park, with restrooms and showers but no lifeguards.

Kua Bay, or Maniniʻōwali, is the north section of Kekaha Kai State Park on the North Kona coast, reached by a paved road from Queen Kaʻahumanu Highway. The County describes a white sand beach with coastal trails, and the section has parking, restrooms and showers. State Parks describes swimming during calm seas, bodysurfing when there is shore break, sunbathing, picnicking and hiking the coastal trail. There are no lifeguards, and high surf brings dangerous rip currents and a pounding shorebreak; when waves get big, State Parks says the water is for experts. The park has no drinking water, so bring your own. Entry and parking fees apply here, and pets, alcohol, smoking and camping are not allowed.
