Designed for experienced divers seeking Kona's most extraordinary dive sites, the Long Range Two Tank Morning Charter ventures beyond the usual coastal reefs to remote locations rarely visited by other operators. Running on Monday and Thursday mornings, this extended charter reaches the world-renowned Red Hill area south of Kona and the pristine waters near Kua Bay to the north — sites known for dramatic drift dives, lava tube caverns, and encounters with pelagic marine life.
With a minimum of 25 logged dives required and no students permitted, this charter maintains a high experience level among all divers aboard. The smaller group of seasoned divers means more time exploring and less time managing logistics, allowing your divemaster to take you through advanced terrain including cavern swim-throughs and current-swept walls.
Check-in takes place the day prior at the Big Island Divers shop in Kailua-Kona, where staff will verify your experience level, fit your gear, and brief you on the next morning's dive plan. The charter departs early and returns by mid-afternoon, giving you the rest of the day to explore the island. All dive gear is included in the charter price.
Please note: as the boat departs from Honokohau Harbor, divers are responsible for their own transportation to and from the marina. Avoid driving to elevations above 2,000 feet after diving due to decompression risks — plan your post-dive activities accordingly.
