Kohala Waterfalls Adventure

Discover hidden waterfalls, lush valleys, and ancient Hawaiian sites on this full-day guided adventure through a private nature reserve in North Kohala. Hawaii Forest & Trail's signature waterfall tour takes you off-road to an exclusive trailhead where few visitors ever set foot, then leads you on a relaxed one-mile walk through a verdant landscape to swim beneath cascading waterfalls in cool mountain pools.

The 6 to 7-hour excursion includes an off-road drive along the rugged Kohala coast, a guided walk through a restored ancient Hawaiian agricultural site, and a private picnic lunch at one of the island's most spectacular scenic lookouts — with views of soaring sea cliffs and remote valleys dropping to the ocean below.

All gear is provided: trekking poles, day packs, raingear, bug repellent, sunscreen, and towels. A deli-style lunch with snacks and assorted beverages is served at the lookout. Bring comfortable closed-toe shoes, swimwear, and a reusable water bottle. The hike covers about 200 feet of elevation gain on natural terrain and is rated easy — suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

Small groups of up to 10 guests ensure a personalized experience.
