Explore the Big Island's most stunning waterfalls and lush tropical landscapes on this 10-hour adventure that includes a private waterfall swim. This full-day tour takes you through the scenic Hamakua Coast, tropical botanical gardens, and multiple breathtaking cascades.
Start at the Waipio Valley Lookout for sweeping views of towering sea cliffs and a mile-long black sand beach. Drive the scenic Hamakua Coast to the famous 442-foot Akaka Falls. At the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden in Onomea Bay, stroll rainforest trails past streams and waterfalls among over 2,000 species of exotic tropical plants.
The highlight is Kulaniapia Falls — Hawai'i's largest privately accessible waterfall — where you can take a refreshing swim beneath the 120-foot cascade (weather permitting). Continue to the 80-foot Rainbow Falls, then return via the scenic Saddle Road between Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa.
A local-style picnic lunch, juices, snacks, water, park entrance fees, jackets, and rain gear are all included. Bring a swimsuit and towels! Pickup from hotels and resorts in Keauhou, Kona, Waikoloa, and Kohala between 7-8:30 AM. Ages 5-89. Maximum 13 guests. Minimum 4 required to operate.
