About this tour
The eBike Culture and Swim Tour meets at the Umauma Experience property in Hakalau on the Big Island, where a guided ride on electric bikes follows paved terrain through the grounds. A narrated guide leads the route, pointing out native Hawaiian trees and plants along the way. Riders stop at a traditional Hale, a Hawaiian house, to learn about cultural practices and the plants central to Hawaiian life, including taro, kukui nut, and coconut. The tour also passes a view of Umauma's triple-tier waterfall before guests take a swim at a private waterfall on the property. The electric bikes handle the terrain without requiring significant physical effort, making the ride accessible to a range of fitness levels. The tour runs Monday through Saturday and is weather dependent, so thunder, lightning, or strong winds can result in cancellation. Bring swimwear, a towel, and sunscreen. The meeting point is at Old Mamalahoa Highway in Hakalau.
