About this tour
This guided hike takes place inside Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park and moves through volcanic terrain that may include native rainforest, steam features, lava fields and crater viewpoints, depending on current conditions.
Groups meet near the Kīlauea Welcome Center at Kīlauea Military Camp, though the confirmed meeting point is sent after booking and may shift based on park access. There is no hotel pickup, so reliable round-trip transportation must be arranged in advance. Rideshare availability in and around the park is limited, so do not count on it without confirmed rides both ways.
The tour includes a backpack, trekking poles, a rain jacket and light snacks. The interpretive guide covers volcanic geology, eruption history and native ecology throughout the hike. German-language guiding is available by advance request. Guests should bring water, closed-toe shoes and a valid national park entrance pass.
