Book the morning trail exclusively for your group with a Private Morning Paniolo Ride at Ponoholo Ranch. Your party gets a dedicated wrangler for 2.5 hours in the saddle across 11,000 acres of working cattle ranch at 3,000 feet elevation on Kohala Mountain.

The private format lets your wrangler tailor the pace to your group — with opportunities to trot and canter, all experience levels are welcome. Ride through rolling green pastures past grazing cattle and ancient Hawaiian ruins while enjoying the cool, crisp morning air.

From the saddle, take in panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, the coastline stretching to Waikoloa, all five of Hawaii Island's major volcanoes, and the island of Maui on clear days. The ranch sits 10–15 degrees cooler than sea level, making the morning ride refreshing and comfortable.

Boots, light jackets, Australian duster jackets, and helmets are provided. Wear closed-toe shoes and long pants, and bring a layer for the mountain temperatures. Check-in is at 9:30 AM. Ages 8 and up welcome. Bottled water available for purchase.
