PADI Scuba Diver Course

The PADI Scuba Diver Course offered by Kona Shore Divers gives participants a entry-level certification that allows diving under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional. This rating suits people who are short on time but want to start diving with a guide rather than pursuing full independent certification right away.

The course meets at the Kona Shore Divers location in Kopiko Plaza in Kailua-Kona. Participants complete eLearning as part of the course, and rental scuba gear and a guide are provided. No food or drinks are included, so bringing a water bottle is a good idea. A towel, sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses are also worth packing. A photo ID is required to participate.

The certification also serves as a stepping stone toward the PADI Open Water Diver rating and certain specialty courses. Because the activity is weather dependent, scheduling may be affected by conditions on the day.
