About this tour
Cleanup Dive Day is a scuba diving trip run by Kona Honu Divers along the Kona coast of the Big Island, focused on pulling debris from the reefs in partnership with Ocean Defenders Alliance. Divers depart from the Kona Honu Divers boat slip at Kealakehe Parkway and head out for reef cleanup dives, with the number of dives depending on the location that day. Tanks, weights, snacks, and water are provided. Transportation to the meeting point is not included.
This trip is suited to certified, self-reliant divers who are comfortable diving in a group without a guide. Anyone who has not dived recently will need to complete a checkout dive before joining. Participants must be in good health with no heart conditions. Reef-safe sunscreen and sun-protective clothing are recommended, along with a reusable water bottle. Waivers must be signed by the evening before the charter, so plan accordingly and arrive on time at the boat slip.
