Dive into Hilo's vibrant underwater world on this guided two-tank shore dive along the East Hawai'i coast. Over approximately 3.5 to 4 hours, your professional divemaster leads you to two unique reef sites where cool freshwater springs meet the ocean, creating thriving coral ecosystems found nowhere else on the island.
After a thorough briefing and easy shore entry, you'll descend into calm, clear waters at typical depths of 25 to 70 feet. Between dives, relax along the scenic coastline with light refreshments before gearing up for your second tank at a completely different dive site.
Expect to encounter Hawaiian green sea turtles (honu) cruising between coral heads, along with octopus, eels, butterflyfish, tangs, and Moorish idols. The colorful coral formations and volcanic lava terrain make every dive a visual feast, with freshwater mixing zones creating unique light and visibility effects.
This dive is for certified divers only (Open Water or higher). If you haven't dived in 2 or more years, a refresher course is recommended. The tour includes two air tanks, weights, professional divemaster guide, bottled water, and light snacks. Gear rentals (mask, fins, wetsuit, BCD, regulator) are available. Water temperature is typically 75 to 80°F, and a 3mm wetsuit is recommended.
Ages 10 and up. Small guided groups ensure personalized attention and safety. Cancellation with full refund available up to 48 hours in advance.
