About this tour
Honoli'i Orchards hosts this farm tour and craft chocolate tasting at its property just outside Hilo on the Big Island. The experience combines a walk through the orchard with an in-depth tasting session led by industry experts. Guests explore how cultivation and post-harvest processing shape flavor, handle fermented cacao beans, try fresh cacao juice, and sample a range of single-origin Hawaiian craft chocolate bars. Seasonal fruit from the farm rounds out what guests try during the session.
Chocolate samples, brewing chocolate, fermented beans, fresh cacao fruit, seasonal farm fruit, bug spray, and umbrellas are all included. Guests should bring shoes suitable for walking on grass, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, a rain coat, and a water bottle. The terrain is uneven and hilly; guests with mobility concerns should contact the operator before booking. Children recommended for the experience are those old enough to stay engaged through a lengthy, educational program.
