Farm Tour + DIY BBQ package

Combine Big Island Abalone's two signature experiences into one 2.5-hour visit. Start with a guided tour of the working aquaculture farm, where you'll learn how Kona abalone is raised from seed to market, handle the shellfish at different growth stages, and taste samples of grilled and canned abalone along with the farm's edible dulse seaweed.

After the tour, head straight to the on-site BBQ area for a DIY grilling session featuring the farm's own abalone alongside locally raised beef, chicken, shrimp, and lobster. All seasonings, sauces, cookware, and utensils are provided - a BBQ server delivers your ingredients with cooking guidelines so you can grill everything yourself. When you're finished, just leave the table - staff handles all the cleanup.

The package is a convenient way to experience both the educational and culinary sides of the farm in a single visit. Drinks are available for purchase at the office or food truck. Arrive 10 minutes before your tour time to register at the office. Wear comfortable shoes (no heels), and note that this is an active aquafarm - children are welcome but must be supervised by adults at all times.
