About this tour
Combine the Big Island's two most requested experiences - waterfalls and volcanoes - on this private all-inclusive tour. Available in 8-hour or 12-hour versions, this adventure takes you from the lush North Hilo Coast to the fiery heart of Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park.
Begin by crossing Saddle Road between Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa to reach Wailuku River State Park, where you'll see Rainbow Falls and Boiling Pots. At Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, walk the rim of Halema'uma'u Crater, feel the steam at Wahinekapu Steaming Bluffs, and explore the massive 600-foot Thurston Lava Tube. Additional park stops may include Devastation Trail, Kīlauea Iki, and upper portions of Chain of Craters Road.
The 12-hour version adds a guided hike through Akaka Falls State Park (442 feet), lunch in historic downtown Hilo, the chance to stay past dark for volcanic glow viewing during active eruptions, and a sit-down dinner in the town of Volcano.
Everything is included - park fees, meals, snacks, all beverages, Patagonia rain gear, Nikon binoculars, hiking poles, flashlights, and 20-25 professionally edited photos. Private Mercedes van for up to 7 guests of all ages. Bring warm layers for the park.
