About This Experience

A private shore excursion for cruise ship guests docked in Kona, combining world-famous Kona coffee with rich Hawaiian cultural history. Available in 4-hour or 6-hour versions, your naturalist guide picks you up directly at the Kona cruise ship pier for a fully guided adventure.

Visit Greenwell Farms, a 5th-generation Kona coffee farm operating since 1850, where you'll walk through lush coffee fields, learn the process from plant to cup, and sample various roasts. Continue south to Pu'uhonua o Hōnaunau National Historical Park (City of Refuge), an ancient sanctuary where you'll explore sacred heiau temples, the Great Wall, ancient fish ponds, and the stunning Honaunau Bay coastline. Stop at St. Benedict's Painted Church to see the remarkable frescos painted between 1899 and 1904.

The 6-hour version adds a picnic lunch at Kaloko-Honokōhau National Historical Park, where you'll explore ancient fishponds, walk coastal trails along Honokōhau Bay, and look for green sea turtles and migratory shorebirds.

Everything is included — park admissions, snacks, all beverages, Patagonia rain jacket, Nikon binoculars, hiking poles, and a complimentary package of 20-25 professionally edited photos. Private Mercedes van for up to 7 guests. Wheelchairs accommodated if collapsible. Full refund if your ship doesn't make port.
