60-minute Gyroplane Flight Lesson

Take the controls of a gyroplane for a full 60-minute hands-on flight lesson over the Kona coastline. Departing from Kona International Airport's general aviation area, this is the Big Island's most immersive aviation experience — and no prior flying experience is required.

Your FAA-certified flight instructor guides you through a pre-flight briefing before you climb into the cockpit and take off along the coast, soaring over lava fields and the Pacific Ocean. With dual controls for safety, you'll actively fly the aircraft under supervision throughout the lesson. Choose between an open-cockpit tandem gyroplane for a raw, wind-in-your-face experience or an enclosed side-by-side model for added comfort.

All flight time is loggable toward your Sport Pilot Gyroplane rating, and you'll receive a signed certificate and logbook entry after your lesson. Participants must be at least eight years old (under 18 requires a guardian present) and weigh no more than 242 pounds. A 48-hour cancellation policy applies, and flights may be rescheduled due to weather conditions. An optional HD video package is available at checkout to capture the experience.
