Fissure 8 Summit Hike

Hike to the summit of Fissure 8, the most iconic eruption site from Kilauea's 2018 lava flow, on this 2-hour guided tour. Often said to rival Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, this walk takes you through the eruption zone where your guide — an eyewitness to the event — explains what happened in vivid detail. Along the way, examine lava features including tree molds, the lava river channel, and different formations created by the flow. The trail climbs to the top of Fissure 8 for a 360-degree view of the entire eastern end of the island.
