Dip in the Waterfall Adventure

Take an easy one-hour guided hike through the upper gardens at Botanical World Adventures to reach a private waterfall accessible only through this tour. The trail leads to a secluded pool at the base of the upper Hanapueo waterfall, where you can wade in, cool off, and enjoy the mist while your guide shares stories about the area's history — from early Polynesian exploration of the Hamakua Coast to the time of King Kamehameha I.

The hike includes a steep staircase descending into the gorge and back out, making it a moderate-effort outing. Water shoes are required for entry into the pond (a limited number of loaners are available if you forget yours). Bring a towel and a change of clothes unless you're happy to drip-dry on the short walk back. Free digital photos of your group at the falls are included.

Groups are kept small — up to eight guests — so you get quality time at the waterfall rather than a rushed visit. This tour works especially well as an add-on after the zipline or rappel experience. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Check in 30 minutes before your tour at the guest center.
