Punalu’u Black Sand Beach Tour - Hilo Discovery and Volcanoes National Park Explorer

Visit Punalu'u Black Sand Beach, Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, and historic Hilo on this all-inclusive 7–8 hour guided tour. At Punalu'u, walk the striking jet-black shoreline formed from cooled basaltic lava and watch for endangered Hawaiian green sea turtles and hawksbill turtles basking on the sand. The beach also features freshwater tide pools and a scenic lily pond.

The Volcanoes National Park portion includes the Kilauea Visitor Center, Halema'uma'u Crater, steam vents, Kilauea Iki Overlook, and the Thurston Lava Tube. The Hilo Discovery loop covers Rainbow Falls, Queen Lili'uokalani Gardens, the King Kamehameha statue, and a scenic drive through the historic town.

Lunch, snacks, and drinks included. Pickup from Hilo hotels, airport, or cruise ship port. Easy walking on mostly level terrain with some uneven surfaces. All ages welcome; child car seats available with advance notice. Cruise passengers receive a full refund if their ship cannot dock.
