About this tour
The day moves through ʻAkaka Falls State Park, where a rainforest loop winds past ferns and bamboo to a tall waterfall dropping into a gorge below. From there the tour heads into Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park, stopping at Kīlauea Visitor Center, Kīlauea Iki, the Halemaʻumaʻu Crater overlook, Haʻakulamanu (Sulphur Banks), and Thurston Lava Tube. The Hilo Discovery portion takes in Banyan Tree Drive, Queen Liliʻuokalani Gardens, Onomea Bay Scenic Drive, the King Kamehameha Statue, Richardson Black Sand Beach, and Rainbow Falls.
Lunch from a list of available options is included, along with Hawaiian-style juices and water. Travelers with food allergies should know that cross-contamination cannot be ruled out, so packing personal snacks is an option. Alcohol is not served and is not permitted in the vehicle.
