Hamakua Chocolate Farm Tour and Tasting

Spend three hours exploring Hamakua Chocolate Farm on an in-depth tree-to-bar tour just north of Hilo. This immersive experience walks you through every stage of Hawaiian chocolate production on a working cacao farm set in a lush tropical landscape.

Taste cacao fruit straight from the tree, stroll through botanical gardens and a spice garden, cross a suspension bridge into an 80-foot-high treehouse overlooking the orchards, and walk among giant bamboo and rainbow eucalyptus groves along a stream. Watch a live bean-to-bar chocolate making demonstration, then finish with a 12-course tasting of the farm's award-winning estate chocolates. You'll also sample cacao husk tea and take home a free gift.

The entire tour is outdoors on the farm's hillside property, so wear sturdy shoes (no flip-flops) and come prepared for rain or sun — this is rainforest country. All guests must be over 12 years old. Up to 12 people per tour. Directions provided after booking.
