About this tour
Kona Haunted Hele ๐ป is a walking ghost tour through Kailua-Kona, led by a local guide along the historic Ali'i Drive. The tour opens with a prayer of protection, a statement of intention, and an overview of Kona's history before moving to locations tied to reported supernatural activity. Stops include the historic site of human sacrifices, the path where the torch-wielding Night Marchers are believed to walk, the one-time royal summer palace of Hawaii's kings and queens, the first Christian church in the islands, and multiple cemeteries. Guests also hear the story of the old Kona Inn, which stands on the grounds of a temple associated with ki'i statues. At each location, paranormal activity detection equipment is available to use, and the tour closes with a white sage smudge. The route is wheelchair and scooter accessible, though guests are responsible for bringing and operating their own mobility equipment. The meeting point is sent by email after booking.
