About this tour
Search for humpback whales aboard Orca, a fast retired Navy SEAL boat that covers more distance along the Kona Coast than typical whale watch vessels. This 2-hour seasonal tour (late December through March) takes advantage of the boat's speed to find whales across a wider range of the coastline.
Every winter, humpback whales migrate from Alaska to Hawaii's warm waters to mate, give birth, and nurse their calves. The calm, protected waters off Kona provide some of the best whale watching conditions in the islands. Drinks and snacks are included.
Tours depart from Honokohau Harbor (74-381 Kealakehe Parkway, Kailua-Kona). Ages 3-75 welcome. Maximum 18 guests per trip. A minimum of 6 guests is needed for the charter to run. Not recommended for expectant mothers, those with back/neck issues, or guests with impaired mobility due to the adventurous nature of the vessel.
