Discovery Scuba

Try scuba diving for the first time in one of the world's best diving destinations — no certification required. Kona Ocean Adventures' Discovery Scuba program welcomes first-time divers curious about exploring the underwater world, with PADI, SSI, and SDI certified instructors who handle all skill levels.

Over approximately 4 hours, you'll receive instruction and then dive Kona's warm, crystal-clear waters where visibility is exceptional. The marine life here is extraordinary — giant sea turtles, manta rays, octopus, dolphins, moray eels, scorpion fish, frog fish, nudibranchs, and colorful coral formations are all common sights. Explore underwater caves and lava formations while your instructor stays with you throughout the dive.

If you love the experience, ask the crew about becoming a PADI certified diver to continue your scuba journey. Departs from Honokohau Small Boat Harbor in Kailua-Kona. Minimum 4 guests required for the tour to operate. Cancellation requires 48 hours' notice (72 hours for groups of 7+ or private charters). Optional tour insurance allows cancellation up to 12 hours before departure.
