Start at Richardsons Beach Park, a rare black sand beach where Hawaiian green sea turtles often rest on the warm rocks. Visit Wailuku River State Park to see Rainbow Falls and the fascinating Boiling Pots. The centerpiece is Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, where you'll stand at the edge of Kīlauea overlooking Halema'uma'u Crater, feel the hot steam at Wahinekapu Steaming Bluffs, and walk through the 500-year-old Thurston Lava Tube.
