Twilight & Manta Ray Two Tank Dive

For certified divers only — this 6.5-hour two-tank charter combines a twilight reef dive with the famous Kona manta ray night dive. Your first dive explores the beautiful Kona reef before sunset at the same site where you'll later encounter the mantas. During the surface interval, enjoy the sunset from the boat while the crew shares manta biology and behavior.

After dark, descend for the second dive into a well-lit underwater scene — bright lights attract plankton, which draws in Kona's legendary resident manta ray population. Mantas glide, roll, and somersault just above and around you, often coming within arm's reach. The experience is often compared to an underwater light show.

Mask, fins, tanks, weights, and dive lights are available for rent. Light snacks, filtered water, and hot chocolate are provided. If it's been over 2 years since your last dive, a refresher course is recommended before booking.

Check in at the Big Island Divers shop, then drive to Honokōhau Harbor (about 3 miles). Manta sightings are not guaranteed as they are wild creatures, but Kona has one of the most reliable manta populations in the world.
