48-hour cancellation policy. Refunds will not be given if you cancel within 48 hours. Refunds will not be issued if you are unable to provide proof of dive certification or are under the influence of alcohol.

No certification is required to participate in the Manta Ray Night Charter, because the tour welcomes both snorkelers and certified scuba divers. Snorkelers must be confident swimming without a life jacket or flotation device and should have previous snorkeling experience before booking. Certified divers can rent mask, fins, tanks, weights, and dive lights for the experience. If you are a certified diver who has not been in the water for more than two years, Big Island Divers recommends completing a refresher course before the charter for your safety. Both snorkelers and divers are assisted by in-water guides throughout the outing.

Reservations for the Manta Ray Night Charter canceled by phone at least 48 hours before your check-in time will receive a full refund. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours of notice will be charged the full charter price. All changes to an existing reservation, including cancellations and date reschedules, must be made by phone rather than email. The shop is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. HST. Reservations made online also include a booking fee, and all prices are subject to change without notice.

Big Island Divers cannot guarantee manta ray sightings on the Manta Ray Night Charter, because mantas are wild animals affected by ocean conditions, seasonal changes, feeding trends, and other factors outside anyone's control. The operator's guides make all reasonable efforts to find mantas feeding at the surface. The same policy applies to dolphins and other sea life encountered during the charter. While the guides use their experience to locate mantas where they feed near the surface at night, no guarantees are made for the presence of any specific wildlife. This is a standard disclaimer across all reputable wildlife-encounter tours.

The Manta Ray Night Charter runs for approximately four hours total. Guests begin the evening by watching the sunset from the boat, and once the ocean turns dark the in-water portion of the experience begins with close encounters with mantas feeding near the surface. Throughout the charter, Big Island Divers provides light snacks, filtered water, and hot chocolate for all guests. Snorkelers are supplied with a wetsuit, mask, snorkel, and fins at no extra cost. In-water guides accompany the group to help locate mantas and ensure guest safety and comfort during the outing.

Big Island Divers does not offer transportation between local hotels, their shop, or the harbor for the Manta Ray Night Charter. Guests are required to check in at the shop first, and the team will provide a map so you can drive yourself to the harbor, which is about three miles away. If you need a ride, the operator recommends Kona Taxicab at (808) 324-4444. Uber and Lyft are also available on the island, though the number of drivers is limited. Planning your own transportation in advance is a good idea to ensure you arrive on time for check-in.
