About this tour
This self-guided adventure puts travelers behind the wheel of a Polaris Slingshot for a full-day loop around the south side of the Big Island, starting from Waikoloa. The vehicle comes equipped with a built-in navigation system, a Fosgate stereo, and lockable waterproof storage, so there is room to bring food, take a swim, and carry purchases along the way.
Optional stops along the way can include Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park, Two Step, South Point, a green sand beach, a black sand beach, and waterfalls. Staff share local tips to help travelers plan which sites to prioritize during the day.
A private option is available, and the difficulty is rated easy. Meals and park fees are not included, so plan to bring spending money and pack food if desired. The tour is weather dependent, so conditions on the day may affect plans.
