All experience levels are welcome on the Private Sunset Ride at Paniolo Adventures. The ride includes trotting and cantering opportunities, so riders who are comfortable in the saddle can enjoy more active pacing, while beginners can still participate fully alongside a dedicated wrangler throughout the two-hour experience. Because the ride is private, your group travels exclusively with your own wrangler, which allows the pace and experience to suit your group's comfort level. The 1.5 hours in the saddle gives everyone enough time to settle in and enjoy the views from 3,000 feet on Ponoholo Ranch without feeling rushed.

You should wear long pants and closed-toe shoes when coming to the Private Sunset Ride, and you should also bring a light jacket, sweatshirt, or coat. The ranch sits at 3,000 feet on Kohala Mountain, where temperatures run 10 to 15 degrees cooler than at sea level, so layering up is important for comfort during the sunset hours. Boots, light jackets, Australian Duster jackets, and helmets are all provided as part of the ride. Sunscreen is also listed among included items, and bottled water is available for purchase on-site. Preparing with the right clothing ensures you stay comfortable as the temperature drops during the ride.

The Private Sunset Ride at Paniolo Adventures is priced at a $109 base price plus $75 per person for the first two riders, and $60 per person for each additional rider in a group of three or more. This structure means larger groups get a lower per-person rate, making the experience more affordable as your group size grows. The booking covers your entire group exclusively - no other riders join you. You and your group ride with one dedicated wrangler for the full two-hour experience, which includes 1.5 hours in the saddle. The exact check-in time is shown after you select a date on the booking calendar.

Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice before your check-in time will be charged 100% of the ride price. If your group has six or more riders, a longer 48-hour cancellation notice is required to avoid the full charge. Planning ahead and canceling early is the best way to avoid these fees. All guests are also required to sign a waiver before riding. At check-in, you must present the credit card used for the booking along with a matching government-issued photo ID. The name on the card must match the booking contact, and each guest must provide a valid ID - no exceptions are made to this policy.
