About this tour
Mountain bike through nearly 100 acres of working ranch land behind the historic Anna Ranch Heritage Center in Waimea. The 3- to 3.5-hour guided ride covers approximately six miles with a 1,200-foot climb from the ranch, crossing Kohakohau stream and ascending into the rolling pastureland above town. At the top, a snack stop rewards you with panoramic views of Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa, and Hualālai - three of the island's five volcanoes in a single frame.
Choose between a full-suspension mountain bike or an electric-assist e-MTB - the pedal assist takes the edge off the climb so you can focus on the scenery and trail. Experienced riders who want more can opt for a second lap. Your guide starts with a brief introduction to the ranch's history and the legacy of Anna Lindsey Perry-Fiske before hitting the trail.
The tour includes your bike, helmet, water, a trailside snack, and rain gear if needed. Meet at Anna Ranch in Waimea - park in the middle lot with views of the Kohala Mountains and look for the Big Island Bike Tours sign. The ride can also be booked as a private experience for families or groups.
