Hike to Hidden Gems - Black Sand Beach
The group meets at Queens' Marketplace water fountain near Island Gourmet Market in Waikoloa Beach Resort, which is the last chance to use restrooms and pick up any supplies before heading out. From there, participants follow the guide by car to a hidden trailhead, then hike across lava fields and volcanic terrain to reach the beach. Once there, the outing includes time to swim, snorkel, search for shells, or rest in the shade. The difficulty level is easy, though all participants need to handle uneven terrain and hiking under the tropical sun. Bring a swimsuit, towel, and sun protection. The guide is available to take photographs on request, and the tour includes bottled water, chilled fresh fruit, and dry snacks. Children should be comfortable walking over rough, uneven ground. No hotel pickup is provided.
