Hawai'i Island Volcano Adventure Tour (from Hilo) H2
This full-day tour from Hilo takes travelers through Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park and a series of natural landmarks that show the island's volcanic history. The Steam Vents area lets visitors watch clouds form as groundwater meets hot volcanic rock below. The tour also covers Kilauea Iki Overlook, Chain of Craters Road, and Kealakomo Overlook, where older lava flows reached the ocean. Nahuku Lava Tube runs through a rainforest setting. Rainbow Falls drops into a pool below, and Akaka Falls sits in a rainforest of bamboo, orchids and hanging ferns. The route passes through Hilo Town, including Banyan Drive and Liliuokalani Park and Gardens. The tour does not pick up from the Kona side of the island.
