Kohala Zip & Dip
Kohala Zip & Dip combines zipline runs and a waterfall swim in North Kohala on the Big Island. The day starts with an off-road drive through private lands to reach the zipline course, where participants fly across multiple lines and sky bridges, then use a waterfall-side landing platform and a tree-mounted spiral staircase. After zipping, the group descends to a private picnic spot along the Kohala coastline for a deli-style lunch with snacks and chilled beverages, including gluten-free options on request. All safety gear, trekking poles, towels, day packs, rain jackets, reef-safe sunscreen, and bug repellent are provided, along with beverages throughout. Participants must be able to walk over uneven terrain and swim. Secure closed-toe shoes and longer shorts or pants are required; tank tops and short shorts are not permitted for safety reasons. Guests are weighed at check-in and must meet the weight requirement.
Kohala Canopy Adventure
Kohala Canopy Adventure takes place on a private nature reserve in Hawi, on the Big Island, where guests zip through a forest canopy, cross sky bridges, and complete a rappel. The course is rated easy to moderate, so it works for first-timers and experienced zippers alike. Certified canopy guides lead every tour, handle safety, and share knowledge of the area's natural and cultural history. Rain gear, helmets, harnesses, gloves, and water are all included. The tour starts at Kohala Zipline Headquarters on Hawi Road in a historic yellow building. Guests should plan to arrive early to allow time for check-in and weigh-in, which is required for all participants. Closed-toe walking shoes are required, and pants, capris, or knee-length shorts are recommended. The course involves walking over uneven terrain, so comfortable footwear matters. The tour is not suitable for pregnant individuals, those with neck or back injuries, or anyone recovering from recent surgery. A portion of each ticket price supports the non-profit 'Iole and its mission to build a regenerative land-use model rooted in Hawaiian tradition.
